In this role, you’ll serve as an IT Network Engineer III. You will contribute to the design, maintenance, and support of Metropolitan’s enterprise network systems that support communications across the organization. This position requires specialized expertise in Cisco network equipment and plays a critical role in supporting multiple upcoming Cybersecurity Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) initiatives. You’ll help ensure the reliability, performance, and security of critical network infrastructure that supports a mission-driven organization.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to the design of network systems and provide ongoing support for enterprise network infrastructure.
• Track, monitor, and troubleshoot network hardware and software.
• Perform network configuration, optimization, installation, upgrades, and testing.
• Analyze service requests and provide customer assistance and technical solutions.
• Perform network research and development to support system improvements.
• Design, maintain, and support network infrastructure including:
• Cisco and Arista routers and Layer 3 internal and external routing protocols.
• Cisco and Arista switches and Layer 2 services such as VLANs, trunks, port-channels, and spanning tree protocols.
• Palo Alto firewalls including security policies, VPN, and network address translation.
• F5 application load balancing and Web Application Firewall services.
• IP address management (IPAM) services including DNS and DHCP.
