Role Summary

As a Software Engineer III, you will contribute to the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, performing root cause analysis, and delivering high-quality code while ensuring adherence to security and performance standards. You will manage project requirements, support continuous integration and deployment, and provide technical guidance to small engineering groups. Your efforts will drive sustainable solutions that meet business objectives and enhance system reliability, supporting the company’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence.

About the Team

Our team partners closely with Walmart International, supporting over 5,900 retail units across 26 countries under 55 banners. We focus on delivering a real-time transaction rewards service that enhances customer acquisition and retention globally. By collaborating across regions including Africa, Argentina, Canada, China, India, Japan, and Mexico, we develop scalable solutions that drive international promotions and rewards. The team emphasizes technical excellence, continuous development, and innovative platform design to meet evolving business needs while ensuring reliable and efficient service delivery at scale.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define high-level design and technical solutions for projects.
• Develop, test, and maintain code ensuring compliance with quality, security, and scalability standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production and business issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Manage project requirements, translate them into technical deliverables, and ensure timely delivery.
• Support continuous integration and deployment processes by automating routine tasks and monitoring application performance.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to small engineering teams, including offshore associates.
• Document technical solutions and maintain traceability between requirements and implementation.

What You'll Bring

• 4+ years of full-time professional work experience as a Software Engineer specific to backend Java development.
• Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and platform design with strong technical acumen.
• Experience in iterative and incremental development, including continuous integration and delivery practices.
• Proficiency in API design, component services, and debugging complex software systems.
• Ability to develop and deliver scoped features or models aligned with product strategy.
• Skilled in documentation-based coding and implementing telemetry for performance monitoring.
• Demonstrated capability in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and defect management.
• Familiarity with generative artificial intelligence and emerging development tools and frameworks.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
