Job Description
We are seeking exceptionally talented, high-agency Software Engineers to join our core team in Palo Alto. In this role, you will design, architect, and ship high-impact features that directly drive revenue for our customers and transform how healthcare organizations operate.
We move fast, iterate aggressively, and value high-throughput execution. You will work alongside seasoned founders in a tight-knit, high-urgency environment where your contributions directly shape our technology stack and product roadmap, allowing us to outpace and edge out the competition.
You will own critical subsystems from day one and play a defining role in our engineering culture.
You will work with the latest cloud infrastructure, deep analytics tools, and AI-accelerated development environments.
What You’ll Do
- Build High-Throughput Data Pipelines: Architect and optimize robust parsers and ingestion engines for complex healthcare data formats.
- Develop AI & SQL-Driven Analytics: Build deep analytics engines that combine classical database optimization with modern AI-assisted workflows to automate complex denial resolutions and financial predictions.
- Ship Full-Stack Solutions: Design, build, and maintain sleek, highly responsive UI interfaces backed by robust, scalable microservices and APIs.
- Drive Cloud Infrastructure: Manage and scale multi-cloud deployments leveraging both GCP and AWS environments.
- Leverage Modern AI Tooling: Maximize your development speed using modern AI-assisted coding tools while maintaining rigorous standards for code quality, system architecture, and performance.
Who You Are
- Proven Engineering Excellence: You hold a degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) or have a track record of building production systems at tech companies or high-growth startups.
- Full-Stack / Core Backend Mastery: Strong foundations in backend engineering (distributed systems, database architecture, complex data parsing) paired with the ability to build clean, intuitive UI components.
- Data & Cloud Native: Proficient in SQL-based deep analytics, modern database management, and cloud ecosystems across GCP and AWS.
- High-Agency & Fast-Paced: You operate with a strong sense of urgency, take ownership of end-to-end outcomes, and thrive in dynamic environments with minimal supervision.
- Pragmatic AI Power User: You embrace AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate iteration while maintaining deep domain mastery over manual system architecture and low-level engineering.
- Mission-Driven: You are eager to apply top-tier engineering principles to solve real-world efficiency challenges in the healthcare industry.
Technology Must-Haves
- Deep Python experience, including production experience with Django or a comparable framework (Rails, Flask + SQLAlchemy). You are comfortable across ORM patterns, migrations, management commands, and background workers.
- Strong Postgres experience in a managed cloud environment (Google Cloud SQL, AWS RDS, or equivalent). Comfortable with schema design under evolving requirements, query performance and indexing, migration strategies for large tables, and read-vs-write scaling tradeoffs.
- Production data-pipeline experience. You have built ingest, validation, and transformation code that runs against real customer workloads and holds up under load, drift, and messy input formats.
- Task orchestration with Celery, RQ, Sidekiq, or comparable—focusing on the underlying pattern more than the specific tool.
- 5–8 years of engineering experience, including end-to-end ownership of at least one significant system in production.
- Bias toward shipping under uncertainty. Real customer workloads are messy; you are comfortable making calls with 60% information.
Technology Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with LLM APIs (Gemini, Anthropic, OpenAI) and agentic patterns—used in production, not just tutorials.
- Experience with X12 / EDI or other healthcare data formats.
- Browser automation experience (Playwright, Puppeteer) for portal-adjacent integrations.
- Cloud Run Jobs, AWS Batch, or comparable serverless batch execution.
- Data-quality tooling (Great Expectations, dbt tests, custom validators).
- OSS contributions in the Python or applied-data ecosystem.
