Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer with expertise in AI/ML, firmware development, and systems engineering to design, develop, and optimize next-generation intelligent embedded platforms. The ideal candidate will lead the architecture and implementation of embedded software solutions that integrate real-time processing, edge AI capabilities, secure connectivity, and hardware-software co-design across a variety of embedded and connected devices.

This role requires strong experience in embedded product development, system architecture, firmware engineering, edge computing, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions from concept through production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware for intelligent connected devices and embedded platforms.
  • Lead end-to-end software architecture, design reviews, technical planning, and implementation efforts for embedded products.
  • Develop scalable solutions supporting edge AI workloads, real-time data processing, and autonomous decision-making capabilities.
  • Collaborate with hardware, machine learning, cloud, security, and product engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Drive board bring-up activities, hardware validation, and system-level integration for new platforms and product releases.
  • Architect and optimize embedded systems for performance, power efficiency, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Implement and support secure firmware deployment, device management, and over-the-air (OTA) update strategies.
  • Develop software solutions supporting sensor integration, edge analytics, computer vision, predictive maintenance, and intelligent automation.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, technical specifications, system design documentation, and architecture governance activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex system-level issues involving firmware, hardware interfaces, networking, and device communication.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolution of field-reported issues across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Support cloud-connected device ecosystems, telemetry platforms, and remote device monitoring solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, safety, regulatory, and quality standards applicable to embedded products.
  • Lead system integration, validation, verification, and performance testing initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across engineering teams.
  • Drive engineering best practices, code quality standards, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions for future product development.
  • Support Agile development processes, release planning, sprint execution, and technical project delivery.
  • Contribute to strategic technology roadmaps and long-term embedded platform modernization efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Embedded Software Development, Firmware Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
  • Proven experience delivering commercial embedded products from concept through production deployment.
  • Strong background in embedded architecture, system design, firmware development, and hardware-software integration.
  • Experience working with edge computing, AI-enabled devices, or intelligent embedded systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of system performance optimization, reliability engineering, and software quality practices.
  • Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or other modern software development methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills.

Good to Have

  • Experience with Edge AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Computer Vision applications.
  • Background in Automotive, Autonomous Systems, Robotics, Aerospace, Medical Devices, or Industrial Automation.
  • Experience supporting connected IoT ecosystems and large-scale device deployments.
  • Knowledge of Functional Safety, Secure Software Development, and Cybersecurity best practices.
  • Exposure to cloud-connected embedded systems and edge-to-cloud architectures.
  • Experience working with semiconductor, chipset, or embedded hardware manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with autonomous technologies, intelligent sensing platforms, or digital twin solutions.
  • Experience contributing to architecture governance, technical strategy, or engineering leadership initiatives.
  • Relevant industry certifications in Embedded Systems, Cloud Technologies, AI/ML, Cybersecurity, or Systems Engineering.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments requiring compliance, validation, and certification processes.
