Senior Database Administrator

Amentum is seeking a full-time Senior Database Administrator to support a Department of War (DoW) customer in Spokane, Washington. The successful candidate will provide enterprise database administration and SharePoint infrastructure support in a secure DoW environment. This position requires extensive experience administering Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint 2019 on-premises, Windows Server technologies, cybersecurity compliance, and enterprise infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a highly structured mission-focused environment.

Main Responsibilities

Database Administration

* Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2019 – 2025 environments across development, test, and production systems. * Design, implement, and support secure, highly available database solutions. * Monitor database health, performance, and capacity; perform query tuning, index optimization, and routine maintenance. * Manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle activities. * Configure and maintain high availability technologies including Always On Availability Groups and failover clustering. * Implement database security through access controls, encryption, auditing, and STIG compliance. * Troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, replication, and integrity issues. * Develop automation scripts using PowerShell and T-SQL to improve operational efficiency. * Collaborate with developers on database design, schema changes, stored procedures, and application performance optimization. * Create custom reports based on customer requirements. • Administer and support SharePoint Server 2019 on-premises environments, including installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
