Position Summary

The Senior Data Engineer / Integration Lead is responsible for establishing, scheduling, sustaining, and continuously improving authorized data pipelines supporting the HQ AFRC/A4 Flying Hours Project (FHP) and future Data Analytics and Automation Portfolio workloads. The position serves as the technical lead for direct integration with Government-designated authoritative operational data systems, including Palantir Foundry and related Air Force logistics, maintenance, and flight-management sources made available by the Government.

The role translates operational data requirements into governed, traceable data models and automated ETL/ELT processes within Government-furnished environments. This individual owns technical integration architecture, source-to-target mapping, pipeline scheduling, transformation rules, data lineage, reconciliation, and technical problem resolution. The Senior Data Engineer works closely with the Power BI Developer / Data Analyst and Contract Project Manager to deliver validated, high-availability decision support products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and integration of Government-authorized data sources, including source-system assessment, schema review, data-owner coordination, source-key identification, refresh analysis, and interface/access dependency tracking.
• Configure and maintain scheduled, automated ETL/ELT data pipelines using Government-provided tools, approved connectors, Palantir Foundry capabilities where applicable, and Government cloud/VDI environments.
• Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings, transformation specifications, data dictionaries, lineage records, schema-change controls, and data architecture documentation.
• Build reusable, modular data models and ingestion standards that support FHP delivery and rapid onboarding of future authorized A4 portfolio workloads.
• Design data pipelines and technical artifacts using modular, air-gapped-ready principles that support potential future NIPRNet-to-SIPRNet migration without performing SIPRNet work during the base period.
• Implement data validation, profiling, cleansing, integrity checks, exception handling, and reconciliation processes to ensure released metrics align with Government-designated authoritative sources.
• Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of data mapping, refresh, transformation, and performance issues; resolve mapping issues within required service thresholds.
• Collaborate with the Power BI Developer / Data Analyst to deliver curated datasets, semantic-model inputs, refresh schedules, and traceable business rules for dashboard measures and visuals.
• Build or support automated UAT scripts and release validation using tools available inside the Government-furnished environment.
• Monitor pipeline execution, data freshness, data quality, query performance, and system dependencies; provide technical input to monthly status and dashboard-metrics reporting.
• Maintain configuration, code, documentation, and technical artifacts in Government-designated repositories; ensure Government ownership and transition readiness.
• Support Government-led Agile ceremonies, sprint reviews, backlog refinement, technical working sessions, and approved on-site integration or knowledge-transfer events.
• Safeguard CUI and Government-furnished equipment; use only Government-approved connectivity and tools; do not store Government information on unapproved devices.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. citizen able to satisfy CAC, Tier 1, and Government logical-access requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant professional experience may substitute for a degree.
• Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering, data integration, database/data architecture, analytics engineering, or related technical roles.
• Demonstrated experience designing, building, and sustaining automated and scheduled ETL/ELT pipelines that integrate multiple enterprise data sources.
• Demonstrated experience with data modeling, relational and/or analytical database design, source-to-target mapping, data lineage, data quality, data reconciliation, and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated experience with SQL and at least one enterprise data-integration, transformation, orchestration, or pipeline-development toolset.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments with version control, testing, documentation, and iterative release practices.
• Ability to communicate technical dependencies, data-quality findings, integration risks, and solution options clearly to Government stakeholders and nontechnical users.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including Foundry data pipelines, transforms, data lineage, ontology/data-model concepts, scheduling/orchestration, and operational analytics delivery.
• Experience integrating or analyzing logistics, maintenance, readiness, aviation, flight-management, or other complex operational data.
• Experience with Air Force or DoD enterprise data environments, including BLADE, Envision, REMIS, ADVANA, or comparable Government-authoritative systems.
• Experience designing data solutions in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Premium, SharePoint Online, or comparable Government cloud environments.
• Experience developing systems or artifacts that support CUI handling, Government data ownership, and future air-gapped deployment requirements.

Performance Measures

• Data pipelines accurately reflect authoritative source data and meet applicable availability objectives, excluding Government-source or Government-network outages.
• Zero critical calculation errors in released data products.
• Data mapping issues are resolved within two business days, when within contractor control.
• Reconciliation evidence and technical documentation are complete, current, and available for Government review.
• Initial FHP integration deliverables and associated SDP/roadmap inputs support the required 60-calendar-day baseline delivery schedule.

Pay: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
