Silverpoint Senior Living is seeking a Controller for its corporate headquarters with previous experience in long term care. The Controller is responsible for providing Corporate and community management with timely and accurate financial management expertise, statements, reports, forecasts and analyses. Performing accounting services, establishing accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles. Reporting to the CEO, the Controller functions as a business partner accountable for company-wide financial responsibilities including general accounting, payables, order entry, billing, cost accounting, resident billing, business analysis, financial reporting, and accounting team management. Serves on the leadership team at the corporate office and liaison to owners. This is a high-impact role with growth potential. ***This role is open to a hybrid work schedule which includes 3 days in the office and 2 days remote for qualified candidates (after onboarding and training at office)***
*Responsibilities include:*
- Lead daily accounting operations, including AP, GL, reconciliations, and monthly close
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, inventory, and profitability by product)
- Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and cash management activities
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls
- Evaluate and improve financial systems, reporting processes, and month-end close workflows
- Produce monthly profit & loss and financial statements for community owners, executive team, and ownership review.
- Preparation and filing of tax forms including 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, W-2, K-1, sales tax filing, and filing property tax exemption applications.
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
- Liaison between finance, executive team, and ownership groups.
- Manage corporate insurance policy renewals, modifications, and claims.
- Cash management and ensure proper controls are in place to safeguard cash.
- Supervise and develop accounting team
- Manage inventory accounting, reporting, and valuation
*Education and Qualifications:*
- B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration. MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in cash management and financial report writing
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounts payable and receivable, as well as balance sheet reconciliation
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting and general ledger accounting
- Long-term care experience is essential
- Proficient in financial software such as QuickBooks or Sage
- Effective communicator and collaborative leader.
- Must be self-motivated, and able to work independently, as well as interact well with others and communicate professionally with employees of all levels.
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent experience in Financial Systems and Accounting related software
