Data Engineer – Azure

Job Title

Data Engineer – Azure ( Fulltime / Permanent Position only) Location: Buffalo, NY Work Arrangement: Onsite preferred; Hybrid considered as a second option

Job Summary

We are looking for experienced Data Engineers with strong Azure expertise to support colocation (Colo) and cloud migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, developing, and migrating data solutions within Microsoft Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions on Azure.
• Support Colo-to-Cloud and cloud migration projects, including data migration, validation, and optimization.
• Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure data services.
• Work with structured and unstructured data across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Perform data mapping, transformation, cleansing, and validation during migration activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, cloud, and business teams to ensure successful migration.
• Troubleshoot data pipeline and integration issues and provide performance improvements.
• Implement data quality, security, governance, and monitoring best practices.
• Document data architecture, migration processes, workflows, and technical solutions.
• Participate in testing, deployment, and post-migration support.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure data and cloud services.
• Experience with data migration / cloud migration / Colo migration projects.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, or similar.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience working with on-premises and cloud environments.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Databricks and/or PySpark.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with cloud migration tools and frameworks.
• Knowledge of Azure security, networking, monitoring, and governance.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise migration programs

Pay: $108,185.81 - $125,000.00 per year
