Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing to lead sales strategy and revenue-generating initiatives across our diverse hotel and resort portfolio.
This is a hands-on hotel sales leadership position requiring a proven hospitality sales professional with extensive experience in full-service hotels and resorts, strong business development skills, and the ability to lead property-level sales teams across multiple markets.
The Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that drive room revenue, group production, market share, account penetration, and overall hotel and resort performance. The successful candidate must understand the distinct sales dynamics of resort, leisure, group, corporate, transient, and entertainment-driven hospitality markets.
Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive hotel and resort sales strategies designed to increase room revenue, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share, and overall property performance.
- Provide strategic direction, leadership, coaching, and accountability to property-level Directors of Sales, Sales Managers, and sales teams.
- Establish measurable sales goals and KPIs, including room-night production, revenue production, prospecting activity, account penetration, conversion, and new-account development.
- Drive outside sales and new business development, ensuring consistent prospecting, sales calls, appointments, site visits, client entertainment, and account follow-up.
- Develop and expand key group, corporate, association, leisure, wholesale, tour and travel accounts based upon the needs and market positioning of each property.
- Identify new demand generators and business opportunities within each hotel's competitive market.
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, meeting planners, travel partners, tour operators, corporate clients, and other hospitality industry partners.
- Actively participate in major account acquisition, sales presentations, contract negotiations, trade shows, sales missions, and customer events.
- Review property sales pipelines, pace, production, lost business, account performance, and sales activity to ensure teams are achieving established goals.
- Partner closely with Revenue Management, General Managers, Operations, and executive leadership to align sales strategies with pricing, need periods, market conditions, and property financial objectives.
- Work with property leadership to develop annual sales and marketing plans, budgets, forecasts, and market-specific strategies.
- Monitor competitive hotels and resorts, market trends, demand generators, and changing customer segments to identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Guide marketing strategies that support hotel and resort sales objectives, including digital marketing, promotions, public relations, social media, and property positioning.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and productivity of property sales teams and recommend changes in strategy, staffing, deployment, or market focus when necessary.
- Ensure consistent utilization of hotel sales and CRM systems, including Delphi and other applicable CRM platforms, for account management, prospecting, activity tracking, and reporting.
- Travel regularly to portfolio properties to work directly with General Managers and sales teams and maintain a strong understanding of each property's market and competitive position.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and Spanish required.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive hotel and resort sales experience, with significant leadership experience at the Director of Sales & Marketing, Regional, or Corporate level.
- Strong full-service hotel and resort sales experience required.
- Demonstrated success driving group, corporate, leisure, transient, and resort sales and developing new business.
- Proven experience leading and holding hotel sales teams accountable for measurable production and activity goals.
- Strong understanding of hotel performance metrics, including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share, pace, segmentation, and revenue production.
- Proven ability to develop new accounts, grow existing accounts, negotiate contracts, and close significant hotel and resort business.
- Experience with Delphi, Salesforce, or comparable hotel sales and CRM platforms.
- Strong understanding of hotel revenue management and the relationship between sales strategy, pricing, inventory, and demand.
- Experience with independent, luxury, resort, boutique, and/or lifestyle hotels strongly preferred.
- Caribbean, Latin American, and international hospitality experience highly desirable.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, revenue, and market data and translate findings into actionable sales strategies.
- Ability to successfully manage sales initiatives across multiple properties, markets, and customer segments.
- Must be highly self-directed, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial hospitality environment.
- Florida-based candidates preferred but not required.
- Must reside within convenient access to a major airport and be able to travel regularly throughout the hotel and resort portfolio, including domestic and international locations.
