Location
On-site — Atlanta, GA or the Washington, DC metro area *(this role is not remote)* Employment type: Contract, W-2 hourly Eligibility: U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder); able to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust / Suitability determination
About the Role
We're hiring a Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, scalability, and operational health of a large-scale federal data and analytics platform running on Microsoft Azure. This is a hands-on, Terraform-first role: you'll independently design, build, review, and troubleshoot Infrastructure-as-Code for mission-critical environments, and you'll work side by side with platform engineers, developers, security teams, and product stakeholders to automate cloud infrastructure, strengthen Kubernetes operations, and keep critical data and analytics services available.

What You'll Do
- Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot production Azure infrastructure using Terraform
- Support the reliability, performance, and availability of workloads running in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, and application reliability issues
- Automate cloud operations to reduce manual effort and improve consistency
- Partner with development and operations teams to improve deployment and incident-response practices
- Build and refine monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and operational reporting
- Identify reliability risks and recommend improvements to cloud architecture and processes
- Document infrastructure, procedures, troubleshooting guidance, and operational runbooks
