Job Description

The Department of Economics & Finance in the College of Business at Idaho State University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance in the field of corporate finance and/or investments beginning August 2027.

This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in face-to-face or online modes as needed by the department, conduct field-related research leading to publications in peer-reviewed scholarly journals, and engage in service-related activities. Teaching load requirements are three courses in both Spring and Fall semester. It is anticipated the individual filling this roll will teach Corporate Financial Management at least once per semester and Advanced Corporate Finance at least once per year, with the balance of classes determined by departmental needs. The candidate will be required to maintain AACSB academic qualifications as a Scholarly Academic.

Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate will have earned, or be close to completing, a doctorate in Finance (Ph.D. or DBA) by the time of hire, with an emphasis in corporate finance and/or investments. The successful candidate will also desire to live in the intermountain west and teach at a regional-serving institution of first access. Candidates seeking to be hired at the rank of Associate Professor must have a minimum of 6 years of experience at the Assistant Professor rank, evidence of teaching excellence, and evidence of scholarly achievement.

Preferred Qualifications

A highly qualified candidate will demonstrate the ability to successfully teach students from broad backgrounds and possess a willingness to engage with students both in and out of the classroom.

Additional Information

Salary will be between $130,000 and $145,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
